2009 Suicide Pool Pick - Week 12

26 11 2009

Our Week 12 suicide pool picks in the order we’d choose them.

1. Dallas Cowboys vs. Oakland Raiders

Regardless of how anemic the Cowboys offense has been the past three weeks, the Raiders present about as easy a matchup as the Cowboys could ask for on Thanksgiving. Dallas’s running game (Barber, Jones and Choice) should run for over 200 total yards on the Raiders front seven and that will open up things for Romo and the passing game.

Defensively, the Cowboys, who have played much better over the past month, will create havoc for Bruce Gradkowski and the Raiders offense.

2. Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Redskins

Games between these two teams are usually close. That being said, it’s hard to envision Washington stealing one in Philadelphia since they’ll be forced to play with their 3rd string RB (Cartwright) with both Portis and Betts out.

Making the Skins one dimensional will allow Trent Cole and Co. to pin their ears back and get after Campbell forcing him into sacks and turnovers. Offensively, McNabb and his talented young receivers will end up being the deciding factor.

3. Arizona Cardinals vs. Tennessee Titans

The Cardinals are usually horrific on the road but will make it six for six away from home in 2009 on Sunday. In a game which is currently a pick ‘em, look for Warner to attack Tennessee through the air and for Fitzgerald and Boldin to have a field day against Tennessee’s suspect secondary.

Wells and Hightower are both running the ball well and this will provide the necessary balance for the offense. Defensively, the Cards will stack the line to contain Chris Johnson and force Vince Young to beat them through the air.

Arizona? if anything Tenn is a better survivor pick go with the team
that has won 4 in a row with a running game and a QB made of rock
not a powder puff like K Warner 1 HIT BY THE PHYSICAL TENN team
and its lights out for Arizona (no back up QB) I would not be surprized
if they all call their mothers at the end of quarter 1

this is from the miami herald and SAYS IT ALL yes all!!

Line: OFF Cote's pick: TEN 27-24

Arizona is 5-0 on road and not a bad pick, but Cardbirds enjoy three-game division lead and don't need this one all that much. Titans, after starting 0-6, have won four straight and are playing like a squad that thinks it can go 10-6. Game was off bet-boards because Cards QB Kurt Warner is concussed and might not play. Like Tenners and Chris Johnson, period (upset!), but especially if Warner doesn't go.

The Cardinals are better defensively this season, but they've struggled against the run lately. Take away a game against Chicago in which the Bears feel way behind early, and Arizona has surrendered 664 rushing yards in their past four contests. That doesn't bode well against the Titans, who are steamrolling over everyone.

When Vince Young has to throw, he'll be protected well once again. Young has only taken one sack in his four starts. You may attribute that to his scrambling ability, but even Kerry Collins was sacked just six times in his six starts. The one constant this season for the Titans besides Johnson has been their prolific offensive line.

ARIZONA OFFENSE: The reason there is no line on this game as of Wednesday morning is Kurt Warner's status. Warner suffered a mild concussion right before halftime of Sunday's tilt against the Rams. He hasn't had any concussion symptoms yet, but head coach Ken Whisenhunt said that he won't announce the starter until Friday.

after talking to Kurt Warner's MOTHER!

There seems to be a lot of hoopla over the fact that the Cardinals are undefeated on the road. I checked their opponents and it seems like they have not played anyone that great. Check it out...

    Jacksonville 31-17 (6-4)

    Seattle 27-3 (3-7)

    New York Giants 24-17 (6-5)

    Chicago 41-21 (4-6)

    St. Louis 21-13 (1-9)

The above teams have a combine record of 20-31 thats no exactly quality teams right there and they have us, San Francisco and Detroit left. That has to be one of the softest away schedules I've ever seen.

Joe, you hit the nail on the head with this one. However, at the time of this prediction, Kurt Warner was scheduled to play. Had he done so, it's clear to see that Arizona would've won this one easily. The passing game under Leinart was inept and the Cards played conservatively down the stretch for fear he'd turn it over.

possibly so but we knew he was hurt and may not play going into the week
so with a survivor pick u stay clear as well u really dont want to play
agst a hot team ie with an unknown factor like young
not to mention an away team and of all the teams in SURVIVOR WORLD
Arizona is one of those teams u can never trust
that was my only real point again I enjoy your page
and u were right on with Dallas which I myself was nervous about
    regards
